Join us for the Library’s summer reading program beginning June 4th. Reader’s from preschool through age 17 will celebrate our theme, Dream Big – READ!, with night related stories, music, crafts, and more. Registration begins May 29th.

The 2012 Summer Reading Program is includes programs, prizes, story times, a reading club, and more. Activities in programs on stargazing and moon lore, dreams and wishes, space exploration, nocturnal animals, and more. All programs are free of charge.

We want to stress the importance of relaxed but consistent daily reading. The goal is to establish a regular daily habit of reading. There are no rules as to number of pages, or numbers of books. Simply read each day through the whole summer.

Preschool thru Grade 5

At registration, club members receive a reading chart, and their name is posted in the library. Make your own goal of how many minutes you will read each day and write the goal on the reading chart. For every 10 days that you read, you will earn a prize, including a special treat. The final prize is the child’s choice of a paperback book. Join us every Tuesday at 11:00 for super fun activities and crafts!

Young Adults

Summer reading fun is not just for kids! Participants may read books, e-books and graphic novels to meet their reading goal. What you read is up to you. Earn prizes along the way. If you read throughout the whole summer you will get a free paperback book of your choice. There will be a Stellar Book Club open to 6th-9th grade students through the “Own the Night” program every Friday from 4:00 – 5:00. Check with the library for more details.

We want to thank our sponsors:

Utah Community Credit Union

Capital Community Bank

Central Bank

Riveting and uplifting, HEAVEN IS HERE offers a gripping account of the crash and the aftermath. With her trademark wit and good cheer, Stephanie will share the wisdom and insights she’s gleaned in the wake of her near-death experience and offer readers inspiration for how they too can find the best in themselves and embrace the joy and beauty of the journey, no matter what life throws at them. In the vein of THE MIDDLE PLACE, SAVING GRACES and HERE IF YOU NEED ME, Stephanie’s book will be a moving and poignant reminder of how faith and family, love and community can bolster us, sustain us, and quite literally in some cases, save us.
